Although the advancement of IoT and automation systems, many transport law enforcement authorities in the developing countries still follow manual vehicle registration and driving license check approach during traffic movement. These manual checking procedures, however, not only affects the traffic movement but also consumes heaps of time. Besides, it’s very challenging to detect unauthorized vehicles and driving licenses in parallel. To overcome these difficulties, this paper proposed a micro-controller based automated Vehicle and Driving License Checking (VDLC) system. The proposed VDLC prototype implemented with RFID sensors to identify the vehicle and associated driver information initially. Then the Node MCU (Wifi Module) transfer that information to the central cloud database for matching of information. Finally, the real-time information is displayed to the management station (control room) to track the vehicle along with its driver and carry on necessary actions. Comparative analysis with the manual approach and a simple usability testing has been conducted to analyze the effectiveness of the proposed system in terms of higher processing speed and accuracy; and overall, an automation system to ensure real-time road transport law enforcement.
